Music TGIF - Bad Music Joke(s) of the Week - Trick or Treat!

Not very Halloween, but a little dark and creepy, several Bad Music Jokes somewhat in the spirit...

What do you get when 20 violinists start playing at the same time but play different songs? A senseless act of violins.

Q: Why did they bury the conductor 20 feet under?
A: Because deep down, he was a really nice guy.

What do you call a guy with no arms or legs who can play 5 musical instruments? Stump the Band.

Why did the Philharmonic disband? Excessive sax and violins.

What do you get if Bach dies and is reincarnated as twins?
A pair of Re-bachs.

Opera: When a guy gets stabbed in the back and instead of bleeding, he sings.

AN-DANTE: A tempo that's infernally slow

And, included, of course, a definitely out-of-the-ordinary music graphic or two...

Pathologist: Doctor killed Beethoven

Pathologist: Doctor killed Beethoven - Yahoo! News (AP)

Curious Beethoven news...

And, note, yet more news about lead problems.

BTW, speaking of Beethoven, do you know that Steinway (who now also owns pretty much every big band/orchestra instrument maker there is nowadays) uses the stock ticker symbol LVB? (get it?)

Music Stuff & More Store News

First, I've added much music merchandise to my CafePress store during my absence here. (It's something of a case of I can't be everywhere doing everything all at the same time...).

I've added much treble clef and bass clef merch, some more piano/keyboard, as well as other musical instruments, merch. And, brand-new merchandise: the new Junior spaghetti tank tops (in pastels now, as well as white). And if there happens to be any pregnant music-lovers, or lovers of pregnant music-lovers, out there - I've got the new maternity tops, which come in black or white. Find them with treble and bass cleves, also piano/keyboard.

I've added to the Circle of Fifths merchandise as well. Expect more - I've promised a couple of customers who sent me E-Mail requests that I'd have a bass clef C of 5 and a light purple C of 5 out before the month's out. So, some new music graphics coming, as well as new merch.

Now, got to go update and sync my iPod. It's off to the iTunes store, before I'm done with my workday.

Love my iPod. Love iTunes. Yes, I also own Apple stock (disclosure). ; ) And would love my iPod and iTunes just as much if I didn't.

And, a reminder, please subscribe to my monthly CafePress Newsletter for all the latest every month. See the subscribe/sign-up box on the sidebar and at my CafePress premium stores (such as Music Stuff & More)

I'll post more asap - there's been lots of interesting musical stuff happening! (Yes, even that which has to do with music only - not my stores. ; )

Now, getting out that USB thingie cord to plug my iPod into my computer. Then, dinner! (It's only 9 pm... yikes)

New Music Stuff

Check out, especially, the Music Merchandise section of Music Stuff & More - new shirts for kids, Women's Plus Size, and more new (and old)items added.

Also, my basic black-and-white piano keyboard graphic is now available in an improved size and on a transparent background (which means it can now be on dark shirts - not only black, but many colors, even red).

More than 600 works available free right on the Web - thanks to the International Mozart Foundation. Wow.

Toymaker Says Grand Piano Is World's Smallest

Toymaker Says Grand Piano Is World's Smallest

The toymaker? Sega.

A tiny functional, real-sounding grand for $500. Really hard to play - good thing it has an auto-play function.

New Music Shirts!

More Long Sleeve T-Shirts. More Women's T-Shirts (also Women's Long Sleeve T-Shirts). More Dark T-Shirts. Still more color choices.

And, new color choices have been added to the Men's Dark T-Shirts (Navy, Khaki Green), Ash Grey has been added as an additional color choice to the Men's White Long Sleeve T-Shirts. The new Men's Long Sleeve T-Shirts come in either Black or Navy.

White Long Sleeve T-Shirts and Black T-Shirts now come in Women's sizes, with Women's Dark Long Sleeve T-Shirts coming in Black or Brown.

It's a lot to digest, even for me!

The new CafePress merchandise was added just last night. I've some examples of the new additions in the section linked to above, find more in the "NEW NEW NEW section" in "Sales & Features" on the Music Stuff & More storefront.

BTW, IMHO, the "gold" treble clef (and, surely, all the "gold" graphics...) look great on all the new colors. : D Check it out.

Watch for more and more of the music graphics to be added to the new merchandise. (I want to convert more music graphics for black/dark use as well.)

Bravo! Bravo!

I never could play this well. This guy has a blind-folded version also. And does "Zelda."

No Mozart, no Liszt - but, this old nerd out-of-practice (!) piano player here appreciates it. Hope you do too.

Instruments Blog

Music blog of interest, which has been kind enough to include this humble blog onto its Blogroll.

Worth visiting just the same for its extensive musical Blogroll and for its photos and descriptions of musical instruments (which are available for sale - note the live links).

How to Write a Song - WikiHow

How to Write a Song - WikiHow

This looked interesting.

I wish it was more instrument-oriented and had more about chord progressions, however.

While here be sure to check out the "Music" Category - this had all kinds of even more interesting musical how-to's. Sure you want to learn how to spin your drumsticks. Sure you want to learn how to "jump on an electric guitar."
But, seriously, there's "how to compose", and how to buy, play, and take care of a wide assortment of musical instruments. And more of musical interest.

Here's the Tiger Rag section. Piano, tuba, trombones, and trumpet on a wide assortment of CafePress merchandise - to wear, and not to wear. Wears and wares.

The Tiger Rag Piano is available on black T-Shirts, as well as on the full range of other CafePress merch. The Tiger Rag tuba, trumpet, and trombones are not available on black tees, yet. Not sure if they can be? A technical, black-tee issue. Stay tuned.
